Panasonic was one of the first manufacturers to explore the possibilities of compact system cameras (CSCs) (also known as mirrorless cameras).

Panasonic's line of CSCs is now composed of the GH line of high-end video-optimized cameras; the slightly smaller G-series models which include electronic viewfinders and maintain a form-factor closer to a DSLR; the GX-series which adopt a rangefinder-esque form factor; the compact GF-series; and the ultra-compact GM-series.

Panasonic GH5

20.3 megapixel, Compact System Camera

The Panasonic GH5 is a wonderful successor to an already great hybrid still & video camera. With lots of new features and improvements both inside and out, the GH5 does a lot of live up to its $2,000 price tag. Sporting a new 20MP sensor, faster processor, a very deep buffer, dual UHS-II SD slots, 4K video up to 60p, 10-bit internal video recording, 6K Photo mode and much more, the Panasonic GH5 is well-deserving of that flagship moniker. The GH-series has made a name for itself among video creators, and that shows no sign of ending with the GH5. Photographers aren't left out, but video features really take center-stage with the GH5. Panasonic GH5S

10.2 megapixel, Compact System Camera

The GH5 was, and is, a fantastic camera for video, but the Panasonic GH5S goes above and beyond. Its 10MP resolution is a bit low for photos, but it's great for video. The GH5S offers better video quality, more recording options, and just tons of advanced video features. And while the AF speed is slightly slower than the GH5, and the lack of in-body image stabilization removes some of what made the GH5 so versatile, the GH5S offers such a wealth of features and high-quality video, that it's easy to overlook these minor points. In the end, if you're a serious video creator looking for a compact yet feature-packed video camera, the Panasonic GH5S is the one to pick. Read more in our Panasonic GH5S review!

Panasonic GX9

20.3 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 5.00x Zoom

The Panasonic GX9 is an interesting little camera. It's small, lightweight and does a lot of things well, including image quality, autofocus, and overall performance. But does it replace the GX8 or the GX85? Regardless of which camera it replaces, on its own, the GX9 is a really nice camera. It's compact, it feels nice in the hand, and it takes great photos, right up there with some of the best Micro Four Thirds cameras. And it shoots pleasing 4K video as well as offers a host of nifty 4K Photo shooting modes. It packs a lot into a small package -- exactly what many of us expect from a "Micro" Four Thirds camera -- and for a great price. Read all about it in our Panasonic GX9 Review!

Panasonic GX850

16.0 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 2.67x Zoom

The Panasonic GX850 continues in the tradition of the GF series of cameras, one of Panasonic's longest-running Micro Four Thirds model lines. The GX850 uses an improved 16-megapixel Live MOS sensor, which ditches an optical low-pass filter. This results in sharp, detailed images across a wide range of ISO speeds. Further, the camera includes 4K video recording, up to 10 frames per second continuous shooting and much more. The Panasonic GX850 is a compact, sleek and capable camera that is a great value at US$550 with a kit lens. Read our Panasonic GX850 Review for all the details!

Panasonic S1R

47.3 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 4.38x Zoom

Panasonic jumps into the fray with their first full-frame mirrorless camera, and the results are very impressive. The new Panasonic S1R is a powerful, DSLR-styled mirrorless camera with a fantastic, high-res 47MP full-frame sensor, built-in IBIS, 4Kp60 video and weather-sealing. The S1R proves to be an excellent pro-level camera for landscape, architectural, portrait and (in some cases) wildlife photographers who want high-quality, high-resolution image-making performance. The DFD-based AF system and a slower continuous burst speeds make it less ideal for fast action, and yet it's still a fairly responsive camera given its resolution.
