Samsung Galaxy NX

20.3 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 3.06x Zoom

Samsung makes a bold move with the convergence of an interchangeable lens camera and a smartphone in the Galaxy NX. This Android-powered camera features the same 20MP APS-C sensor as the NX300 and boasts similar impressive image quality at low to mid ISOs. A built-in EVF gives you a more traditional shooting experience, and the large 4.8-inch HD touchscreen is beautiful. With built-in Wi-Fi and 3G/4G LTE data capabilities, and all your favorite Android apps, the Galaxy NX should be the connected photographer's dream camera. However, a clunky user interface and all-around sluggish performance leave a lot to be desired.

Samsung NX1

28.2 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 3.13x Zoom

The NX1 is the first pro-level NX-series camera, and Samsung has pulled out all the stops with an impressive set of features and under-the-hood horsepower. On most fronts, the Samsung NX1 is a tremendous camera, with excellent DSLR-like ergonomics and controls, impressive photo and video quality and great performance. The NX1 does falter somewhat with continuous autofocus performance, but overall, it is a very compelling camera. Read more about Samsung's flagship NX camera in our in-depth Samsung NX1 review!

Samsung NX30

20.3 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 3.06x Zoom

The Samsung NX30 is a strong contender for those looking for a relatively compact, high-performance camera at a great value. With excellent overall image quality and solid performance for all but the most extreme shooting scenarios and subjects, the NX30 will fit the bill very nicely for everything from general lifestyle, portrait and travel photos, to even a good amount of action and sports, all without breaking the bank.

Samsung NX300

20.3 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 3.06x Zoom

The 20.3-megapixel NX300 is the most fully realized mirrorless camera Samsung has produced yet and one of the best on the market in its class. Though the camera is slightly bigger and heavier than its predecessors, the NX300's "retro modern" design looks great, and it's still highly portable. While the NX300 has the same resolution as the previous model -- which should be more than enough for most photographers -- the camera's APS-C-sized, CMOS sensor is brand new, adding on-chip phase detection autofocus for quicker and more accurate focusing. Image quality is also better, particularly in low light at high ISOs. The NX300 adds an attractive 3.3-inch AMOLED, tilting touchscreen display, which you'll need to use extensively since there's no viewfinder option for this camera. A new processor has made the NX300 a faster performer than previous models, which were noticeably sluggish, while even better wireless connectivity tools make sharing photos almost as easy as with a smartphone.

Samsung NX500

28.2 megapixel, Compact System Camera, 3.13x Zoom

The Samsung NX500 is a fun, great little camera with lots of the same horsepower and technology from the larger NX1. The high-res 28MP sensor and fast processor allow for very good, high-resolution images, good high ISO performance and crisp 4K video. Overall, the Samsung NX500, with its compact, lightweight design and solid build quality, stacks up to be not only a great mid-level camera for those stepping beyond the smartphone, but also a great secondary camera to enthusiasts looking for a lightweight companion to their NX1 or other larger system camera.
