Canon Australia announced it’s teamed up with National Geographic Channel to create a television series that takes a look into the lives of some of Australia’s most talented photographers. Titled Tales by Light, the series will only be aired in Australia and consists of six episodes, the first of which will premiere at 8:30pm AEST (UTC+10:00) on Sunday May 24th on National Geographic Channel.

The series is produced by cinematographer and Canon Master Abraham Joffe, in partnership with Canon Australia, marking the first time the company has created a television series. The series follows along five photographers who are consistently putting out great work and pushing themselves – and their gear – to the limits.

The photographers featured are Art Wolfe, Darren Jew, Richard I’Anson, Peter Eastway and Krystle Wright. Filmed in 4K, the series gives us a behind the scenes look at the inspiration, challenges and the powerful moments each of these storytellers deal with on a daily basis.

There are no details on whether or not this will make it elsewhere in the world, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the episodes pop up on YouTube after the series finishes its airtime in Australia.
