Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
10 out of 10 points and recommendedVersatility, zoom range, price for qualityI really love this lens. I use it extensively for landscape photography but also for wedding photography even if I would need a lower f-stop for wedding photography. I don't like having tons of lens and this one is my to-go lens whenever I need to be light while traveling (I make a lot of treks, so weight is fastly an issue).

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
10 out of 10 points and recommendedCheap, quality for priceThis lens was my first lens and I loved being able to use a low f-stop without having to pay an expensive lens. Therefore, this is really the lens I tell everyone to buy when they start out photography because it will be very useful to learn and see the big changes in the depth of field with the f-stop. Therefore, it is a good lens for people starting out photography. As I am now really into wedding photography, I upgraded to the 50mm 1.4 because of the added f-stop and the higher quality of built and its faster AF and better crispness. But if I had not gone into full time wedding photographer, I would have stuck to this lens because it is such a good value for its price and I love this focal length, either on APS-C or full frame.
