Company Increases Write Speed to 133x; Adds New 8-GB Card for Higher Capacity Needs

Fountain Valley, CA – August 15, 2006 – Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced it is upgrading its “Ultimate” line of CompactFlash memory cards by preloading the cards with Ontrack’s EasyRecovery Professional software version 6.1. Kingston’s Ultimate line of Compact Flash cards is targeted for professional and advanced amateur photographers. The Ontrack® EasyRecovery™ Professional software provides data recovery capabilities for lost digital photos. In addition, Kingston will increase the sustained write speed on its 2/4-GB CompactFlash Ultimate cards from 100x to 133x and will add a new 8-GB capacity card with a write speed of 133x to the line.

EasyRecovery Professional version 6.1, the latest data recovery software from Ontrack, is designed to retrieve photos that have been corrupted or accidentally deleted. EasyRecovery Professional provides a complete, easy-to-use interface to recover photos, providing photographers with added peace of mind and greater image protection.

The write speed of a Compact Flash card, along with the speed of the camera itself, determines how quickly photos can be stored on the Compact Flash card. Kingston’s 2/4/8-GB CompactFlash Ultimate cards (rated 133x) can efficiently write images to the card as they are continuously captured by the camera, allowing a seamless flow of imaging information from camera to memory card and maximizing the overall speed and functionality of the digital camera system.

The addition of the new 8-GB, 133x, CompactFlash Ultimate card provides a powerful solution for photographers who are using more advanced imaging applications and need both the additional storage and speed of a high-capacity memory card. When used in conjunction with matching high-performance digital cameras Kingston’s 8-GB CompactFlash Ultimate card will provide ultra-fast transfer times with read speeds up to 23 MB/sec. and write speeds up to 20 MB/sec.

“ The demand for higher speed, and image recovery software is growing among professional photographers and serious amateurs,” said Joe Teng, Flash memory product manager, Kingston.

Kingston’s CompactFlash Ultimate cards are 100-percent tested and backed by a lifetime hardware warranty and 24/7 live technical support.
