Veo Launches Digital Camera For Palm Handhelds

Veo's Photo Traveler for Palm OS. Courtesy of Veo, with modifications by Michael R. Tomkins.SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 2002--Veo, a leading provider of high-quality digital imaging products and services, today announced its certification by handheld leader Palm Inc. as the first digital camera vendor for Palm handhelds utilizing the Palm Expansion Card Slots, including the Palm(TM) m125, m130, m500 series, and i705 models. During November, Veo will ship the Photo Traveler for Palm(TM) handhelds, a new handheld digital camera that plugs directly into the expansion slot now common on most Palm handhelds. The new camera is part of the broader Photo Traveler line of products that Veo announced in September.

Veo is an official Palm PluggedIn member and has been working very closely with Palm in the development of the Photo Traveler to ensure compatibility with its latest handheld offerings including Palm OS® 5. Veo's Photo Traveler for Palm will carry the "Designed for Palm Handhelds" logo. A software developer's kit will also be available so custom applications can be developed for the cameras in a variety of vertical markets.

"We're excited about this new way to take advantage of our expansion slot," said Ken Wirt, senior vice president marketing and product management, Palm Solutions Group. "Veo's focus on innovatively designed, high-quality products that are easy to use and affordable is a strategic fit for us."

The addition of the Photo Traveler for Palm(TM) handhelds is an extension of Veo's mission to develop fun, affordable and innovative digital imaging products. With a simple, easy-to-use interface, the camera allows users to instantly capture, view, store and organize digital images in full color and beam these images wirelessly to other handheld devices for viewing. A swivel lens with adjustable focus ensures crisp photos from close or far away.

The small PDA camera takes 24-bit full-color photos; includes automatic exposure; white balance and color control; and comes with a rugged and stylish travel case. The Photo Traveler for Palm(TM) handhelds will be available at major national retail stores in November and will have a suggested retail price of $99.99.

Veo will be at Palm's booth (#7961) during COMDEX at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 18-22, 2002. Veo can demonstrate and discuss the new Veo Photo Traveler for Palm handhelds during the show all week long.
