PRESS RELEASE: WiebeTech Publishes White Paper on Hard Drive Capacity Concerns

WICHITA, KS - October 6, 2003 - WiebeTech has published a white paper which addresses Hard Drive capacity concerns as cited by a recent lawsuit against major computer manufacturers.

The paper analyzes the mathematics behind the varying capacity claims of hard drive manufacturers and operating systems, ultimately providing an explanation for the majority of the numerical differences.

"This topic has been of interest to our customer base, and is a common cause of concern among many computer users," said James Wiebe, president/CEO. "We thought it would be useful to analyze the capacity claims and explain why there are different viewpoints as to available capacity of the storage devices within computers.

"We are also able to reach some conclusions which may be surprising to some people. For instance, we are able to point out that not all drives are created equal. As an example, different manufacturers market 120GB drives which have capacities that vary up to 3.5GB from one manufacturer to another."

The White Paper is posted on WiebeTech's website, and may be found linked from the following URL: http://www.wiebetech.com/mediawp.html
