Galbraith Reports Upcoming Aperture 1.1 Improvements
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource
(Monday, February 27, 2006 - 16:57 EST)

The new version focuses on Raw conversion and usability, according to a report today by Rob Galbraith. Scheduled for release later this month, an OS update may be required as well.

Citing much improved Raw decoding that "appears to have none of the improperly sharpened and somewhat smeared look of Aperture conversions today," Rob Gailbraith details that and other improvements in the 1.1 release of Apple's professional photo editing application.

Usability improvements included PSD files as masters, a color meter, faster searching and an Applescript to automatically import images from a watch folder.

The update is expected later this month, but Galbraith believes it will require an update of the operating system as well.
