Licensing, photo editing and bug fixes highlight the new release.

Light Crafts has released an update to LightZone, its image editor based on the Zone system. Version 1.4 addresses Mac licensing and photo editing issues, with a couple of bug fixes thrown in as well.

WHAT'S NEW

According to Light Crafts, the update includes the following changes:

Licensing

• For Mac OS X only: the 3rd-party licensing software from eSellerate that LightZone uses has been updated. LightZone will need to re-activate your license key the first time it is launched. This requires an Internet connection. It should take only several seconds. You will not have to re-enter your key.

Photo Editor

• Opening Raw images is now much faster and more accurate.

Fixes

• For Mac OS X only: fixed a crash when browsing PNG images.

• For Windows only: fixed a crash when reading a corrupt ICC profile.

DOWNLOAD

To download the newest version, open your copy of LightZone to run the built-in version checker. It will alert you of a new released and offer to download it for you.

Alternately, you can go directly to the LightZone download page.

The Mac version is a 10.1-MB download, while the Windows version is a 23.1-MB download.
