PHANFARE.GIF Phanfare Releases API

Now anyone (who can code) can get in on the Phanfare act.

Phanfare announced the release of an application program interface to its image sharing service, "making it possible for the community to extend Phanfare," according to Phanfare CEO Andrew Erlichson.

The company itself has used the API to create a badge that can pull your newest images into a third party website, like a blog, and a little widget that shows your most recently created album on your blog.

They are also working on a Windows screensaver that pulls images from a Phanfare account and reported that a third party is working on an Aperture plug-in for pushing images from Apple's Aperture program to a Phanfare account.

Details about the API, which requires a key, are available on the announcement page.
