PRESS RELEASE: New Website Enables Users to Design Custom Canvas Prints

Mississauga, Ontario (PRWEB) July 23, 2008 -- imagingoncanvas.com launches today, giving do-it-yourself consumers the online tools to quickly and easily design canvas prints showcasing their favourite digital photos. Creative control is in the hands of the user who can add as many of the featured special effects as desired to enhance the image. The resulting print, which can be ordered as large as 40" by 60", offers a dramatic way to enjoy treasured photos or artwork and add personalized punch to home dcor.

The first step: an image is uploaded. Then, the user is free to colour, sharpen, blur, invert or apply any of nine additional special effects to the file, viewing their changes in real time. For a modern style the photo can be transformed to black-and-white with a spot colour, or printed in a three or four panel group.

A variety of creative backgrounds are available online to superimpose behind the image if desired, or a personal file can be used. For those who like a colourful, contemporary look, the "Andy Warhol" style is available as well as other designs.

John Spear, owner of Rainbow Digital Imaging who is behind the site and the service, plans to expand the range of options as the website matures. "We will continue to replenish our gallery of images," says Spear, "and will provide special feature images and update new special effects to enrich the experience for our customers."

Each canvas wall covering is stretched by hand onto a 3/4" or 1 1/2" kiln-dried wooden stretcher frame and printed with eco-solvent inks that will last a minimum of 50 years. The company uses the latest in ink-jet technology to print the images, ensuring the highest resolution possible. Spear was inspired to launch the service as a result of his personal photos. "I like to take pictures" says Spear. "Of course not all are 'wall worthy' but some have special meaning to me. Putting them in a frame on a desk didn't seem to do them justice. Our vision is to provide canvas masterpieces that will offer a lifetime of enjoyment."

Prints can be ordered in sizes ranging from 12 square up to 40" by 60". Prices range from $65 and up depending on print size, options chosen, plus tax and delivery. They can be delivered anywhere in Canada and the United States. Orders arrive an average of seven to 10 business days after full payment is made.
