Panasonic Corp. has today announced several updates for different versions of its PHOTOfunSTUDIO application, which comes bundled with certain of the company's products.

PHOTOfunSTUDIO offers photo and movie management and editing functionality for Windows-based computers, and the updates are for the 5.0, 5.0 HD, and 5.1 HD editions of the program.

The update for PHOTOfunSTUDIO 5.0 corrects a problem relating to certain USB devices whereby the program wouldn't start, or was unstable when running. It also makes it possible to send emails through Windows Live Mail when running the Windows 7 operating system. This versions is applicable to photographers using the Panasonic Lumix DMC-F3, F4 ,FP1, FP2, FP3, FS9, FS10, FS11, FS30, FS33, FH1, FH3, FH20, FH22, FX66, FX68, TZ8, ZS5, TZ9, or ZS6 digital cameras.

The HD edition updates both bring improved image quality when converting videos to MPEG2 (PAL) format, and also solves a problem whereby converted MPEG2 videos were vertically stretched when played with Windows Media Player and other unspecified players. The PHOTOfunSTUDIO 5.0 HD update is applicable for the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX3, ZR3, FT2, and TS2 digital cameras. PHOTOfunSTUDIO 5.1 HD edition meanwhile applies to the DMC-TZ10 and ZS7 models.
