Another lengthy review of Nikon's superb Pro digital SLR - this time from Steve's Digicams...

Our good friend Steve Sanders at the Steve's Digicams website has posted his full review of Nikon's D1x digital SLR, a 5.5 megapixel interchangeable lens SLR that quite remarkably can be bought for less than $5500. Steve concludes:
"The bottom line - the D1X is a professional digital camera that will please both the photojournalist and the commercial photographer as well as advanced amateurs. Its image size and color rendition will allow it to hold its own against 35mm film cameras. There's no denying that the Nikon D1X will set a new (low) price point for six- megapixel SLRs. It will be most interesting to see what the competition does to counter this threat. If you already have an investment in Nikkor lenses and have been waiting for a digital alternative to your F5 - the wait is now over!"
For a whole lot more on this, read Steve's full review, accompanied by 16 sample images. When you're done, be sure to read our own Nikon D1x review posted back on June 18th for a second opinion, and get yet another opinion from the folks at the Digital Photography Review...
