Continuing in Dutch website's IFA 2001 coverage, we see a new digital camera from Sanyo...

Our friends at LetsGoDigital.nl have posted their second report from the German IFA 2001 show for the day. Earlier today, they gave us news of a new digital camera from Grundig, and they've followed this up with another new digicam - this time from Sanyo. The Sanyo VPC-R1 features a 5.7mm (38mm equivalent) f/2.8 - 5.6 lens, 1MB of built-in internal memory, CompactFlash storage and power from 4 AA batteries. Pricing and availability info, along with in-depth specs are not yet available.

Also shown at the show are the VPC-MZ1 digital camera (the European equivalent of the DSC-MZ1 first announced in June), and two prototype models. One, labelled as the IDC-SX611, looks to be a digital video camera using iD Photo disks, whilst the other looks to be an iD Photo still camera similar in shape and style to Ricoh's RDC-i500 and -i700 digital cameras.
