15:55 EST - Two PDF files containing manuals for unannounced Nikon digital SLRs appeared on servers for Nikon Asia and Nikon Germany over the last couple of days, triggering a flood of interest; the company now appears to have confirmed at least one of the cameras is real.

Toshiba: fast-charging Li-Ion battery prototype
08:53 EST - Toshiba Japan has announced a new battery technology that it says provides a "breakthrough" in recharging times over existing Lithium Ion batteries, all the while maintaining cost performance, and improving both energy / power density and life cycle.

Epson claims victory in third-party ink case
13:50 EST - A press release issued by Epson America Inc. towards the end of last week claims that a federal judge has granted the company a summary judgement in its favor, in an ongoing case against Hong Kong-based Multi-Union Trading Co.
