Why We Love the DJI Mini 5 Pro
Who Is This For and Is It a Good Time to Buy?

DJI has just recently dropped the price on its flagship ultralight drone. The DJI Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo with the RC 2 remote is currently $500 off, bringing the price down to $1,099 from its usual $1,599.

The Mini 5 Pro is DJI’s top-tier sub-250g drone, designed to deliver high-end aerial imaging in a compact package. Because it falls under the 250-gram weight limit, it avoids stricter aviation regulations in many countries, making it a convenient option for travelers. With this new discount, it’s shaping up to be a strong deal for anyone looking for a lightweight drone with professional-level capabilities.

Why We Love the DJI Mini 5 Pro

The Mini 5 Pro offers impressive imaging performance for a drone of its size. It features a 1-inch 50-megapixel CMOS sensor capable of recording 4K60p video, delivering detailed footage with strong dynamic range. In my experience with drones in this class, a larger sensor like this can make a noticeable difference when shooting in challenging lighting conditions.

Another standout feature is the drone’s safety system. The Mini 5 Pro includes omnidirectional obstacle sensing along with a front-facing LiDAR sensor, allowing it to detect obstacles even in low-light environments. This added layer of awareness makes flying the drone feel more confident and controlled, especially when navigating complex scenes.

Key Features

Improved Camera System: Features a 1-inch 50MP CMOS sensor that captures detailed aerial photos and improves low-light performance.
Pro-Level Video Capture: Records 4K60 HDR video with up to 14 stops of dynamic range, producing rich footage with balanced highlights and shadows.
Nightscape Obstacle Avoidance: A front-facing LiDAR sensor works with omnidirectional sensors to detect and avoid obstacles even in very low light.
Intelligent Tracking System: DJI’s FocusTrack suite includes ActiveTrack 360, Spotlight, and Point of Interest modes for automated subject tracking and cinematic movements.
Fly More Combo with RC 2: This bundle includes the RC 2 controller with built-in display, extra batteries, filters, a travel bag, and other accessories for extended shooting sessions.

Who Is This For and Is It a Good Time to Buy?

The Mini 5 Pro Fly More Combo is aimed at serious enthusiasts and professionals who want a powerful drone without the bulk of larger models. With its large sensor, advanced obstacle avoidance system, and intelligent flight modes, it’s capable of capturing high-quality aerial stills and video in a wide range of environments.

At $1,099, this is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen for the Fly More Combo version of the drone. Considering the included accessories and the capabilities of the Mini 5 Pro, this discount makes it a compelling option if you’ve been considering upgrading your aerial setup.
