Adobe has partnered with Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG) to make popular music more accessible to creators using Premiere Mobile. The agreement brings fully licensed music clips from artists represented by the two major record labels directly into Adobe’s free mobile video editing app.
“Today, we’re announcing that we’re working with Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG) to bring fully licensed music clips from leading artists directly into Adobe Premiere mobile,” Adobe announced.
The company says the partnership will make it easier for creators to discover music, build videos around their favorite tracks, and share their work without leaving the app.
Licensed Music Comes to Premiere Mobile
The integration allows Premiere Mobile users to browse and incorporate licensed music directly into their video projects. Creators can use song clips to participate in popular trends or develop original videos built around music from UMG and WMG artists.
Adobe says the partnership also creates opportunities for artists and songwriters to reach new audiences through creator-made content.
“Music has always been a powerful way for people to express themselves and connect with others. By bringing licensed music from UMG artists into Adobe Premiere mobile, we’re giving creators new ways to build their stories around the songs they love for the first time, while helping our artists and songwriters reach new audiences,” said Bryan Stone, SVP of Business Development at Universal Music Group.
WMG also highlighted the potential for deeper connections between artists and fans through creator content.
“The way people experience and engage with music extends far beyond traditional listening platforms,” said Rachel Scarpati, VP of Digital Strategy and Business Development at WMG. “Our partnership with Adobe Premiere mobile integrates WMG’s catalog directly into the creative process, opening up new possibilities for creative expression and deeper fan engagement.”
Browse Songs and Build Videos Around Music
Premiere Mobile users can browse and search the available music catalog by track or artist. They can also filter songs by genre and duration, bookmark favorites, and discover music through curated collections.
Creators can add up to 60 seconds of a licensed track to their videos. Adobe is also introducing music-powered templates, which pair songs with customizable video layouts to help users get started with an edit.
Once finished, videos can be exported and shared on social media platforms.
However, the music provided through the UMG and WMG partnerships is licensed for personal, non-commercial use. Creators who need commercially licensed music for their projects can instead access Adobe Stock Audio.
Pricing and Availability
Adobe Premiere Mobile is free to download through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
The app’s generative AI features, powered by Adobe Firefly, use generative credits that can be purchased through a subscription.
