    good value, lightwight, sharp results
    nothing

I bought this lens after reading several reviews from this website. I used it solely at my cousin’s wedding reception. No accessory flash and was able to take wonderful pictures. The sharpness everyone has mentioned is true. I wasn’t familiar with primes and now I think they are great! A tremendous value and to re-use the phrase “Every Nikon owner should have this lens in their bag.”

    Image Quality
    Huge, and expensive

I feel 3rd party lenses come close, but this lens is worth the extra dollars (if you have it to spend). I tested several other lenses, but this lens is slightly above the rest. Image Quality is top notch. I use this lens with the D80 and love it. The VR works very well.

    low light specialist
expensive for some, but better value.

No complaints regarding this lens. I shoot with a D80; and also have a 50mm and 70-200 VR. They all focus extremely well in low light. I also think it is built well.

  • Olympus 18-180mm f/3.5-6.3 Zuiko Digital

    great range, lightweight, compact
    hunts in low light

I have switched over to using Nikon equipment, but I used this lens with the EVOLT E-500. I took over 3,000 photos on a trip to Alaska; I didn't bother taking either lenses that come with the kit....I used this lens the entire time and had great results. This lens takes up very little space and the convenience is tremendous. I now shoot with faster lenses and realize how nice it is to shoot in low light without any struggle :)
