NLxAROSA's reviews

  • Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 DC Macro

9 out of 10 points and recommended
    Price, sharpness, fast AF
Prone to lens flare, 2.8 only available while zoomed out, bokeh

Excellent lens for the price. The sharpness is very good wide open and becomes excellent when stopped down a bit. I have experienced no CA, even in high-contrast situations. Bokeh is not the strongest point of this lens. It's also prone to flare, which ofcourse can be solved with a lens hood (comes with the lens, so no extra costs there). It's also very solidly built.

  • Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG HSM

9 out of 10 points and recommended
    IQ, f/1.4, Bokeh, HSM
    None so far

Recently acquired this lens because I do a lot of low available-light action stuff. IQ is excellent, f/1.4 makes sure you can use this baby in the worst light conditions. The HSM AF is fast and quiet. I am using this lens on a subframe camera (EOS 450D) and I have no issues with front- or backfocusing (I specifically tested for it because I read this in the reviews). It's built like a tank too. :)
