Our good friend Yamada Kumio of Japanese digital photography website digitalcamera.jp has noted a delay in the introduction of a camera we told you about in March.

According to Yamada-san, the Komamura Rolleiflex MiniDigi, a 2 megapixel camera updating the original 1.3 megapixel MiniDigi design that appeared on the market in March 2003, has been delayed for at least 90 days. The reason given for the delay by Komamura was that preorder demand has greatly outstripped their planned production capabilities, a situation you might think companies would be happy to find themselves in...

The Komamura Rolleiflex MiniDigi is now planned to ship on July 1st, with pricing still set at ¥39,800 (roughly equivalent to US$353 / €294 / CAD$487 / £198, ignoring exchange rate fluctuations, taxes and duties).

Specifications and photos of the new Komamura Rolleiflex MiniDigi can be found in our coverage of the original announcement.
