Sigma: Addon lenses for the DP1 By
Michael R. Tomkins, The Imaging Resource (Wednesday, May 28, 2008 - 17:50 EDT)Japan's Sigma Corp. has announced the launch of a new closeup lens for the Sigma DP1 digital camera, a model we recently reviewed.
The new Sigma Close-up Lens AML-1 allows for focusing from 20 to 33 centimeters (7.9 to 13.0 inches), and consists of two elements with super multi-layer coating. The AML-1 lens has 46mm threads with which it can be attached to the Sigma DP-1 using the optional HA-11 hood adapter, and can offer magnifications from 1:8.2 to 1:14.9.
Alongside the announcement of the AML-1 closeup lens, Sigma US has also taken the opportunity to reconfirm that its existing 46mm UV and circular polarizer filters can be used with the DP1.
Planned pricing and availability for the 46mm closeup lens have not been disclosed at this time.
