The General Electric X1 offers eight megapixel resolution, a 2.5" LCD display, and a 12x optical zoom lens with the camera's standout feature - optical image stabilization. (The other GE cams all offer the ability to boost ISO sensitivity to reduce shake, but only this model has any mechanical form of stabilization).

Other X1 features include in-camera panoramic stitching, red-eye removal, 9-point AF with face-tracking, 30 frames-per-second VGA MPEG4 movie mode and SDHC compatibility (up to 4GB). X1 exposure modes include Auto, full P / A / S / M, plus 12 scene modes including Sport, Kids & Pets, Party/Indoor, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Aquarium, Portrait, Night Portrait, Landscape and Anti-Handshake.

The GE X1 uses four standard AA batteries (with alkaline disposables in the product bundle), offers USB and NTSC / PAL video connectivity, and includes both 26MB of built-in memory and an SD / MMC card slot.

Pricing and availability of the GE X1 have not been announced at this time. The X1 will be offered in either black or silver.
