The Photosmart M637 features a seven megapixel CCD coupled to a 36 - 108mm equivalent 3x HP Precision-branded optical zoom. For framing images, there's a 2.4 inch LCD display, but the M637 has no optical viewfinder - something that's unfortunately becoming an increasingly rare feature in modern digital cameras.
The HP M637 offers ISO sensitivity settings from 100 to 800, shutter speeds from 2 to 1/1500 second, exposure compensation of +/- 2.0EV in 1/2 EV increments, center-weighted AE metering and eight shooting modes including Close Up, Steady Photo, Theatre, Landscape, Portrait, Action, Night Portrait and Sunset. A ten second self-timer mode is also provided. The M637 also features a 320 x 240 pixel, 24 frames-per-second movie mode with audio, encoded in Motion-JPEG format.
Additional HP M637 features include HP's in-camera red-eye removal, steady photo anti-shake, HP Design Gallery (colors and borders), a four mode built-in flash, USB 2.0 Full Speed connectivity, and 16MB of built-in memory plus an SD / SDHC card slot. The M637 derives its power from two AA batteries with disposable alkalines being included in the product bundles.
The Hewlett-Packard Photosmart M637 is priced at US$149.99 and ships August 2007.
