If you're among the early adopters for the Panasonic Lumix GX1 system camera, or you're shooting with the Lumix G Vario 100-300mm lens, the company has news that'll put a smile on your face: new firmware that brings improved performance.
You'll have to wait a little while though, because while it's being announced today, it doesn't drop until the end of January.
For the Panasonic GX1 body, the firmware update will bring improvements to white balance and continuous autofocus. It'll also improve stability with high-speed UHS-I flash cards. A variety of other minor tweaks relate to power zoom, drive modes, and the camera's menu system.
If you've been using the LUMIX G VARIO 100-300mm lens, meanwhile, you should notice better image stabilization performance.
If you're lucky enough to own both--well, you'll get all of the above, and twice the firmware updating fun!
