Panasonic's GX8 and GH4 cameras are two of the most popular cameras to hit shelves recently, and with good reason; they pack quite the punch in considerably small packages. Now, thanks to an update to its flagship Promote Control and USB Tether software, Promote Systems now lets you tether GH4 and GX8 cameras to your computer via USB.

The Promote Control is a pocket-sized device that lets you program settings and trigger your device. In addition to complete camera control, the weather-sealed Promote Control also enables you to shoot High Dynamic Range (HDR), time-lapses, and HDR time-lapses with the newly-updated device.

The accompanying USB tether software enables you to completely control your camera from a laptop or desktop computer. All settings can be changed and images are shown full-resolution as they’re captured.

The Promote Control is available for $329 from Promote Systems’ website and the USB Tether software can be had for $49. Customers outside the U.S. and Canada receive a $50 discount when purchasing the Promote Control through Promote System’s online shop using promo code ‘50OFF’ at checkout.
