Take the Coolpix 5000 along on your next dive with the Tetra 5000 housing...

Light & Motion Industries has announced a new underwater housing designed for Nikon's Coolpix 5000 digital camera. The Tetra 5000 Underwater Housing, which will ship this summer, features a cast and machined aluminum case with dual self-locking rotary latches and is designed for use up to depths of 300 feet. Most camera controls are accessible, and the LCD screen can be viewed through an optical glass port for subject composition and review.

The housing features LMI's 'Remote Optical Controller' for strobe photography with one or two strobes. This allows Digital TTL, Manual bracketing based on TTL feedback and full Manual with the ability to adjust in 12 half stop increments with any TTL compatible strobe.

By itself, the housing costs $1499. Kits with one or two underwater strobes will be available for $2699 or $3899 respectively, and macro / wide-angle lenses cost $400 each. A full Acrobat PDF file containing the price list for these and other accessories is available on the Light and Motion site.
