funtigo.gif PRESS RELEASE: Funtigo Adds Music, Group Email Features

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) - 05/13/2004 -- San Francisco-based Funtigo LLC today announced a new version of its Funtigo photo sharing site, which now includes music and group email features.

"Funtigo is more than a digital replica of traditional paper-based photo albums," according to founder Jim Conning. "It lets you share photos in your own personal way, arrange them on Web pages, in albums or high resolution slideshows while supplementing these photos with text, callouts, and high quality clipart. Music was a natural next step that our customers demanded. It lets them further personalize their memories and share them they way the want to."

Funtigo users can choose from a collection of 220 pieces, including categories such as classical, funky, easy listening, and ambient sounds. Music can be assigned to entire albums, slideshows, or individual Web pages. Sample music-rich Funtigo sites can be found at www.funtigo.com/sample.

Funtigo also added photo email upload functionality, which allows website visitors to upload their photos even when they don't have administrative access to the site. This way, for instance, parents who took pictures at a school trip can upload these photos to the site by emailing them to a specific email address, such as [email protected].

For protection, the site owner can also require a specific code word in the email's subject line, or disable the email upload feature altogether. They can also specify where the uploaded photos will go. Photos can go directly live with a date and time stamp on a photoblog page or they can be placed in the "New Photos" staging area, from where the site owner can move the photos to specific pages or albums.

The same functionality can also be used by camera-phone users. This way, they can directly email their photos into a Funtigo site from their camera-phones without the need to first transport them onto a PC. An insurance worker, for instance, can take photos on the scene of an accident and immediately upload these to a website for his or her colleagues to review. With Funtigo's built-in page layout tools, the Funtigo site owners can later add text, text balloons or arrow clipart to annotate the photos.

Funtigo's music and group email features are provided at no extra costs and are part of Funtigo's normal subscription plans, which range from $1.49 to $7.99 per month.

Founded in 2002, Funtigo LLC is a privately held company, based in San Francisco, California. Funtigo is a registered trademark of Funtigo LLC.
