We liked what we saw when we first got our hands on a prototype of the Olympus C-7070 Wide Zoom back in March, and our initial positive impressions have now been confirmed after having run a production model through our full battery of tests.

We found the C-7070's wide-angle zoom lens offered good sharpness in the corners (although higher-than-average barrel distortion at the wide angle end of its range), and the cameras color and noise characteristics to be very good as well. The production model proved to be ever so slightly slower from shot to shot than the prototype was, but most of our measurements of the final unit in fact tallied very closely with those of the prototype.

Looking at our list of pros and cons, there's a lot more to like than dislike about this camera, its strengths far outweigh its relatively few weaknesses. All in all, a great camera for the enthusiast at an affordable price, with great picture quality. Read our full review of the Olympus C7070 for all the details.
