For a very low entry fee, the Canon PowerShot A430 lets novice users enjoy the benefits of Canon imaging technology.

The A430 has a surprisingly solid build, with image quality to match. The 4.0-megapixel CCD captures excellent images, able to make sharp prints as large as 8x10 inches, while maintaining very good detail. The compact yet rugged design should fit well into a larger coat pocket or purse, and the PowerShot A430's lens design protects it when closed, while keeping the camera body smooth and low-profile.

I'd like to see it equipped with a more accurate optical viewfinder, but other than that, what this camera does, it does very well. With an initial suggested retail price of just $179 (and widely available online for much less), the A430 is an especially good bargain for an all-around consumer model.

Read on to find out more about the Canon A430, a inexpensive, yet full featured digital camera.
