Google Releases Mac Uploader for Picasa Web Albums
By Mike Pasini, The Imaging Resource
(Friday, August 4, 2006 - 12:40 EDT)

The package provides easier uploads directly from iPhoto or just by dragging and dropping image files on the new Uploader.

Google today released two free Macintosh utilities to upload images to its Picasa Web Albums service. Picasa Web Albums Exporter addresses the needs of iPhoto users while Picasa Web Albums Uploader uses drag-and-drop from the Finder. Both require Mac OS 10.4.

"The Picasa Web Albums Exporter lives right inside iPhoto," the company said. "Select photos, choose Export in the File or Share menu, and upload them directly to your Web album." The Exporter is an iPhoto export plug-in.

Alternately, Mac users can use the Uploader to drag any image on their Desktop to the Uploader winder and click Upload. The Uploader can add captions and search your disk for other images.

The package can be downloaded from the Picasa Mac Tools page.
