Suite of 9 separate editing tools including trimming within the compressed domain now available for handset manufacturers and operators

BARCELONA, SPAIN – February 14, 2011 – muvee Device Solutions Group [DSG], the pioneer and leader in video editing applications for mobile devices, today announced the release of a suite of HD video editing tools for Android operating systems.

The toolkit, comprised of nine functions to edit HD video captured with a mobile device, was created to enable video editing on today’s devices with little memory and CPU utilization.

“Armed with the ability to instantly capture life’s special moments in HD quality, consumers will also demand the ability to make small edits to their videos before showcasing and sharing these videos,” says Terence Swee, Founder and CEO, muvee.

“The form factor of mobile phones as video capturing devices sometimes means the top and tail ends of captured videos are shaky or even pointing in the wrong places. Being able to trim the ends, perhaps add a voice message, or put an avatar to brand your videos before uploading to YouTube or your blog are all very basic and achievable features for today’s video savvy consumers,” says Swee.

Each of the nine features can be used to build separate applications or be licensed separately. They are also ready to be shipped as a complete video editing application immediately.

The Trim and Join features enable users to cut out selected parts of the video and join any number of videos, of the same type and resolution, together. It also enables users to join images, like creating title screens for their movies. Users can also place a music track as background, record a voice-over message over the video, or simply blend music and voice over. These functions use muvee’s compressed domain editing moduls so that all the above operations can be achieved without the need to decode and re-encode the videos, achieving super fast turnaround times of a few seconds, typically.

The image and text overlay feature allows for simple branding for on-the-go marketing videos and video blogging entries and the ability to tell a story with one’s videos. Along with the fade-in/out feature, users can quickly create elegant videos for their sites with powerful imagery, video, and text.

Also included are time-warp features like Slow Motion and Fast Motion, enabling users to create new experiences with the videos that they have shot.

The HD video editing toolkit is now available for handset manufacturers and operators. For more information please visit http://devices.muvee.com/.
