Unified Color updates HDR Expose, 32 Float, offers launch discounts

San Francisco-based Unified Color Technologies has announced updates to its flagship HDR imaging application and 32-bit Photoshop color editing plugin, as well as special launch pricing for both products valid through year's end.
HDR Expose 2 follows in the footsteps of last year's HDR Expose, and 32 Float v2 is an update of a Photoshop plugin that debuted a month later. While the overall interface of both HDR Expose 2 and 32 Float v2 looks fairly familiar, there are quite a number of changes under the hood.
Perhaps most significantly, there's a new, faster image processing engine, which should make for quicker and more intuitive adjustments to tone mapping. There are also a new batch processing engine which automatically identifies bracketed image sets, plus a variety of new tools including color-safe dodge and burn brushes, 32-bit tone curve adjustment, and an automatic halo removal function. The workflow has also been adjusted so that adjustments are now automatically applied in the optimal order, and the preset functionality has been overhauled.

HDR Expose 2 and 32 Float v2 are available immediately from the Unified Color Technologies website, with a 30-day trial provided for each program. Standard pricing is US$149 for HDR Expose 2, US$99 for 32 Float v2, or US$199 for the pair when purchased together (approx. 20% of the full pricing). For a limited window through December 31st, special launch pricing is available, offering further value. The launch pricing is set at US$129 for HDR Expose 2, US$89 for 32 Float v2, or US$169 for the pairing, representing an approx. 10-32% off full retail prices depending on the package chosen.

Major upgrades to both products include more than 26 new and improved features, faster processing speed and streamlined user interface

Batch Merge and Batch Processing tools: Commercial and high volume photographers will save valuable time with the new automatic batch merging process which automatically groups and previews images from exposure brackets of any size and then merges them to 32-bit HDR files. After the merge, 32-bit images can be batch processed for final TIFF or JPEG output by applying user presets. Users can even choose to process the same image up to 5 different ways by selecting multiple presets. All batch merge and processing can be applied as a background task to further enhance workflow efficiencies.
