DxO doubles lens module selection, updates Optics Pro with Canon 6D support

French software company DxO Labs has unveiled a new release of its flagship Optics Pro workflow software for photographers, and announced an important milestone in its production of the modules that let Optics Pro automatically correct common lens-derived image quality problems such as vignetting, aberrations and distortion.
DxO Optics Pro v8.1.2 supports raw images shot with three new cameras, and also adds lens correction modules for 107 new body / lens combinations, mostly specific to the newly-supported cameras. DxO notes that with its latest additions, it now offers more than 10,000 lens correction modules for Optics Pro, surpassing an ambitious target the company set itself in late 2011, and doubling the 5,000 modules it had available just a little more than a year ago.
Cameras newly supported in Optics Pro 8.1.2 include the Canon EOS 6D digital SLR, Nikon V2 mirrorless, and Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 full-frame compact. Optics modules that have been added include all of the following:

DxO's release notes also state that some minor bugs have been fixed, although the company doesn't provide any specific details on what issues have been remedied.
Through January 31, you can purchase DxO Optics Pro at the discounted price of around US$100 for the Standard edition or US$200 for the Elite edition. The program regularly lists for about US$170 in Standard form, and US$300 for the Elite version. More details on the DxO website.
