Create your own lighting diagrams with this nifty, free online tool

Here's a sweet little photography tool you should check out if you work with studio lighting. Called the Online Lighting Diagram Creator, it is just that, letting you create and save set-ups for future reference.

We've embedded the tool below but you can also access it online here.

Created by QH Photography, the tool lets you build and modify the illustrated diagrams using drop down menus. You can select from a host of lighting objects including various light sources and modifiers, and then drag these little icons into the diagram, rotate them, and change layers.

When you're done, you can export the diagram as a JPEG or PNG file or simply save its URL. There's even a new beta version with iPad support that includes the ability to add notes.

The best part? It's all free but you can donate to the project to keep it going. (We think you should.)
