Fujifilm has announced the discontinuation of a number of film stocks and an increase in price on the film stocks it will keep around.

Today, in a press release, Fujifilm announced it is killing off the following film stocks:

  • Fujicolor PRO160NS (35mm)
  • FUJICHROME PROVIA400X (35mm and 120)
  • FUJICHROME Velva50 (220)
  • FUJICHROME Velvia100F (4x5)

The following film stocks will all receive roughly a 20% price increase, which will go into effect in October 2015:

  • Fujicolor 100
  • Fujicolor SUPERIA PREMIUM 400
  • Fujicolor SUPERIA X-TRA 400
  • Fujicolor SUPERIA Venus 800
  • Fujicolor NATURA 1600
  • Fujicolor PRO 160 NS
  • Fujicolor PRO 400 H
  • FUJICHROME Velvia50
  • FUJICHROME Velvia100
  • FUJICHROME PROVIA100F
  • Neopan 100 ACROS

It’s not the brightest day for analogue photographers, as more film is getting killed off and the price of some of Fujifilm’s more popular stocks are being raised above their already high prices. But if it means more focus can be put into what stocks do remain, it’s worth the cut backs.
