Lexar adds new high-capacity 256GB microSD card to lineup

 

 

Lexar has added another card to their robust lineup of memory options, this one the 256GB Lexar Professional 1000x microSDXC UHS-II (U3) memory card. Designed for sports camcorders, tablets, and smartphones, the Professional 1000x microSDXC UHS-II card has read transfer speeds up to 150MB/s and write speeds up to 90MB/s. Though it won't be breaking any speed records, it's a high-capacity card that has been verified to be compatible with GoPro cameras, and will allow shooters to cram a lot of high-resolution video onto one card. It's now more likely that you'll run out of batteries for your cameras before you run out of capacity. 

Lexar breaks down the features of the new card as follows:

• Premium memory solution for sports camcorders, tablets, and smartphones
• Quickly captures, plays back, and transfers media files, including 4K, 3D, and 1080p full-HD video
• High speed performance leveraging UHS-II Technology for a read transfer speed up to 150MB/s (1000x), a write speed of up to 90MB/s, and includes a microSD UHS-II USB 3.0 reader for high-speed file transfer
• ‘Works with GoPro’ verified to achieve maximum compatibility with GoPro cameras

The new card will be available in the next couple months (no exact date given) with an MSRP of $349.99.
