DJI may be facing significant regulatory challenges in the US, but that doesn’t appear to be slowing down its product development. Images of two upcoming action cameras have reportedly leaked online, showing what could be the DJI Osmo Nano 2 and Osmo Action 7.

A post shared by Photo Rumors shows the two cameras side by side while being held by what appears to be an operator. The image looks like it was taken during testing, although there is no way to independently verify the circumstances surrounding the photograph.

What We Know About the Osmo Nano 2

The Osmo Nano 2 is expected to succeed the original Osmo Nano, DJI’s small modular action camera.

According to the leaked information, the new model will use a 1/1.3-inch sensor while retaining the magnetic design and Vision Dock of the original. This suggests DJI will be keeping the core concept of the Nano series while upgrading its imaging capabilities.

The first-generation Osmo Nano was released in September 2025, so a replacement arriving toward the end of 2026 would give the camera roughly a year on the market.

Osmo Action 7 Could Get a Larger Square Sensor

The Osmo Action 7 is expected to replace the Osmo Action 6 as DJI’s flagship conventional action camera.

The upcoming model is reportedly getting a 1/1.1-inch square sensor and a variable aperture. If accurate, these would represent significant changes to DJI’s action camera lineup.

The Osmo Action 6 was released in November 2025, meaning the Action 7 could arrive roughly a year after its predecessor.

Both the Osmo Nano 2 and Action 7 are reportedly expected to launch before the end of 2026.

DJI Needs to Catch Up With Insta360

Video performance will be particularly interesting for the Action 7.

The current Osmo Action 6 is limited to 4K120p, while the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 can record 8K30p. DJI will likely need to make a significant jump in video capabilities if it wants to close the gap with Insta360’s flagship action camera.

The original Osmo Nano, on the other hand, had an advantage over the Insta360 GO Ultra in some areas. The Nano supports 10-bit video, while the GO Ultra is limited to 8-bit.

It will be interesting to see whether DJI can maintain that advantage with the Nano 2 while also improving its overall video performance.

DJI’s US Problem Remains

The biggest obstacle for DJI isn’t necessarily its hardware.

The company remains on the FCC Covered List, preventing it from receiving authorization for new products in the US. DJI has already been unable to officially launch several of its latest products in the country, including the Osmo Pocket 4 and Pocket 4P.

The FCC has also taken enforcement action against companies suspected of selling rebranded DJI technology in the US. This makes the regulatory situation even more complicated for DJI and its partners.

As a result, even if the Osmo Nano 2 and Action 7 are ready to launch, their availability in the US remains uncertain.

Pricing and Availability

According to The New Camera, the DJI Osmo Action 7 could be priced between $349 and $429 for the base model. The Osmo Nano 2 is reportedly expected to cost between $329 and $379 in its base configuration.

Both cameras are expected to launch before the end of 2026, although DJI has not officially announced either product.

Those estimated US prices also assume that DJI will eventually be able to sell the cameras in the country. So far, the company’s newest products have not been officially released in the US.
