Canon Rebel XTi Preview Posted! (Yikes - See update)|
(Thursday, August 24, 2006 - 06:03 EDT)
After a looong night, Shawn and I have a pretty comprehensive preview of the new Canon Digital Rebel XTi ready for your perusal. There's lots to see, so come check it out!
While the public will most likely focus first on its 10.1 megapixel resolution, the relatively modest 2-megapixel jump over the previous Rebel XT model is really the least exciting news about Canon's latest consumer DSLR. Improvements in auto focus, dust reduction/removal/remediation, and a host of features brought over from the 30D are the real news. We have information on all that and more in our freshly-minted Canon Rebel XTi preview!
We expect to have more information coming over the next couple of days, including a collection of our own product photos, a hands-on report, and more, so check back often!
UPDATE: Yikes - apologies to our early readers: An automated process accidentally copied a protection file *back* into the Rebel XTi's directory after I'd removed it in the wee hours, locking readers out of the review. This has been remedied, the review is again accessible, and anyone who was inadvertently blocked from the server should be able to get back in within the next 30-60 minutes. Apologies for the confusion! - Dave E.
(Special thanks to Yazmin and Mike T for their sleep-deprived contributions to this article as well!)
