Godox has announced the iM10 Mini Flash, an ultra-compact on-camera flash designed for everyday photography. Weighing just 23g and measuring 40 × 40 × 30mm, the flash is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket, making it an easy accessory to carry with a compact camera.
The iM10 is designed to provide a convenient fill light when natural or ambient lighting needs a boost. Its straightforward controls and four power settings make it a simple option for photographers who want a little extra light without carrying a full-size flash.
Four Flash Power Levels
The Godox iM10 offers four output settings: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, and full power. An LED indicator shows the selected setting, allowing users to adjust the output for different subjects and lighting conditions.
At full power, the flash has a recycle time of approximately three seconds. Its indicator flashes while the unit is recycling and remains steadily illuminated when the flash is ready to fire.
Controls are kept simple, with two buttons: a Power/Test Flash button and a Stepping button for changing the output level. Users press and hold the power button to switch the flash on or off.
The iM10 uses a single-contact hot shoe, making it compatible with cameras that support this connection. However, the simplified interface does not support through-the-lens (TTL) metering or high-speed sync (HSS), so users must adjust flash output manually.
Built-In Battery and USB-C Charging
The iM10 has a built-in 125mAh lithium battery rated for approximately 350 flashes at full power. It recharges through a USB-C port, with a full charge taking around one hour and 10 minutes.
Godox specifies an operating temperature range of -10°C to 49°C, allowing the flash to be used in a variety of everyday shooting environments.
A Compact Alternative to Larger Flashes
At 23g, the iM10 is designed for photographers who prioritize portability over output and advanced flash controls. Its tiny dimensions make it particularly appealing as an everyday accessory for compact cameras.
Photographers who need more power and flexibility may prefer a larger unit, such as the new Godox TT350II Thinklite. Priced at around $85, the TT350II offers a more capable flash system while remaining relatively compact.
Pricing and Availability
The Godox iM10 Mini Flash is priced at $24.90 and is available to purchase through B&H Photo.
