Nikon D40 Setup Menu Options

Here again, the D40's Setup menu is pretty conventional. Of note are the ability to configure a custom "My Menu" that will show only the options you use most (good for making a simplified menu configuration for novice members of a family to use), and the options for selecting the style for the main Shooting Display. Also notable is that different Shooting Display formats can be used for the Vari-Program (Scene) modes and the more advanced PASM modes.

An interesting idea: The camera guru in a household can set up a specific menu configuration for novice family members.

As mentioned above, note that you can set different display modes for the novice-oriented Vari-Program modes and the more advanced PASM modes.

You can also choose whether or not to have the camera display aperture and shutter settings when the shutter button is half-pressed.
