Finding just the right bag for your camera setup is often a struggle. Every style of bag has its own purpose and depending on how much gear you want to take along with you on any given day will decide what bag you go with. Do you need a full-fledged backpack? Sling bag? Messenger bag?

You might not have to choose between the three if the TEKNIQ modular camera bag comes to life. Currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, the TEKNIQ is a camera bag capable of changing its form-factor depending on how much protection you want and how much gear you’re carrying.

In its complete form, the TEKNIQ bag is a full-fledged backpack, capable of carrying a DSLR, multiple lenses, a couple of speedlights and a handful of accessories. In its mid-sized form, the TEKNIQ becomes a sling bag, capable of carrying a DSLR, two lenses and a speed light or some accessories. In its smallest form, the TEKNIQ becomes a messenger-style bag, capable of holding a DSLR and a single lens, as well as an additional battery.

This 3-in–1 design is possible due to a combination of heavy-duty snapping connectors and weight bearing zippers, which hold the sling-style bag onto the bottom of the smaller messenger bag to turn the TEKNIQ into its final backpack form.

Additional features include a lens cap holder integrated into the shoulder strap, a pocket for tablets (or a rally small laptop) and external pockets for more storage of snacks and other accessories. The webbing on the outside on the bag adds additional modularity, allowing you to attach carabiners or extra storage.

If you’re quick to pull the trigger, you can grab one of the few remaining early bird specials for $179. Even if you don’t get in on the early action, you can pick one up for $199.

TEKNIQ currently has roughly $8,000 of its $50,000 goal, but with 43 more days to go, there’s plenty of time to get it funded. For more information and details, head over to TEKNIQ’s Kickstarter page.
