Entries are now open for National Geographic’s popular Travel Photographer of the Year photo contest. Entries are accepted until June 30 at 12:00 PM EDT and photographers can win up to US$2,500 in cash and a ten-day trip for two to the Galápagos with National Geographic Expeditions. In total, there is $3,750 in cash prizes up for grabs, with $750 and $500 going to second and third place winners respectively. All three winners will receive a year’s subscription to National Geographic Traveler as well, a publication in which all winning photos will appear later this year.

National Geographic editor-in-chief George Stone says of the travel photography contest, “Travel is about curiosity, and travel photography is about capturing and sharing that curiosity with the world. Our Travel Photographer of the Year contest surfaces extraordinary visions that inspire us all to get out and explore—with camera in hand.” Interested photographers can enter in three categories: Nature, People and Cities. Entries are unlimited, but you do have to pay $15 per submission.
