Behind the scenes of real-world wedding photography

This weekend, we want to show you a great behind-the-scenes video from Dan and Sally Watson. In addition to reviewing gear, the duo are full-time photographers and photograph a lot of weddings. For those interested in starting wedding photography or perhaps just looking for fresh ideas, the video below is a great resource.

On the gear side of things, the Watsons shoot with Sony mirrorless gear, including the Sony A7 III and Sony A7R III. Below, we see how the photographers handle bridal prep, shots of the couple getting ready for their big day, shots of details and full-fledged portraits. When shooting details images, natural light looks great. If you’re inside a house, try to find a big window in a room that offers a clear area. For shots of things like rings, or shoes or ties, any small items like that, you don’t need a big space to work. When you are photographing people, one of the most difficult aspects is posing and there are some really nice posing ideas in the video below as well.
