DJI appears to be positioning its upcoming Avata 360 drone directly against the Antigravity A1, the first 360-camera drone announced earlier this year. Newly surfaced leaks offer a closer look at the Avata 360’s expected price and its likely release timing.
FCC Approval Points to Imminent Launch
According to a report from DroneXL, DJI secured FCC approval for the Avata 360 on November 19. This certification is required before any wireless device can be sold in the United States and arrives just 34 days ahead of the December 23 deadline tied to potential federal restrictions on future DJI products.
For DJI, the approval is a critical milestone. It means the Avata 360 can be released in the U.S. before the deadline goes into effect. If no national security agency completes a review of DJI by December 23, the company could be added to the FCC’s Covered List, restricting the sale of future products. Existing drones, however, will remain legal to operate—an important detail for potential Avata 360 buyers.
DJI Races the Clock—and the Competition
DJI has accelerated its release cycle over the past year, unveiling the Mavic 4, Mini 5 Pro, and Neo 2, and is reportedly pushing to launch the rumored Osmo Pocket 4 before the cutoff date.
The Avata 360 may also be timed to beat the Antigravity A1 to market. The A1, announced in August and billed as the world’s first 360-camera drone, is expected to ship in January 2026. If DJI launches before December 23, the Avata 360 would arrive weeks ahead of its competitor.

Expected Pricing and Features

Leaks suggest the Avata 360 Fly More Combo will be priced at $999, placing it well below the estimated $1,300 price of the Antigravity A1. The rumored pricing is also only $79 above the current Avata 2, which positions the Avata 360 as a relatively accessible step up.
For that price, DJI is expected to include dual 1/1.1-inch image sensors capable of capturing immersive 360-degree video. Additional reports point to a 90-degree rotating gimbal that may allow the drone to switch between traditional shooting and first-person-view–style footage.
Still a Rumor—but Possibly Not for Long
DJI has not confirmed any of the leaked details regarding pricing, specifications, or release timing. However, with the FCC deadline now less than a month away, an official announcement may be close. We’ll continue monitoring developments surrounding the DJI Avata 360 as more information becomes available.
