  • Olympus 12-60mm f/2.8-4 ED SWD Zuiko Digital

10 out of 10 points and recommended
Sharp - extremely sharp / build quality
    none

I sold my Olympus gear and went over to the Nikon side - two things I miss however : my 12-60 and my 50-200.

    Both lenses were perfect ...

If it wasn't for their SLRs, I would still be with Olympus. The lens quality is just ... awesome.

  • Olympus 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 Zuiko Digital

Monster that takes tack sharp pictures
    It's a bit heavy

Left the Olympus camp for Nikon - do however loved this lens and the 12-60. Got it for a cheap price.

Tried the SWD version. Preferred this one based on the price. Technically it's even a bit faster on some of the focal lengths (due to the SWD engine in the newer version they had to give in a small (read very small) % of speed).

If you find one at the price I paid, don't hesitate ... go for it !

  • Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro

10 out of 10 points and recommended
    Sharp - sharp - sharp
    autofocus is slooooow

Got lucky and found a cheap one.

Bought it based on the reviews I found. Was thinking of the Nikon 85 as a portrait lens, but decided to go for this one.

Apart from the sloooww focus (it is slow), a killer lens !

price / build quality / ease of use

Needed a cheap wide angle (don't use this type of lens a lot as I have the nikon 16-85) - love it and ... still don't use it enough LOL

Good build Q / Sharp / Perfect for normal use

Not the fastest, but in combination with my other gear, perfect for all round situations.

Built Q is fine, but I stepped over from Olympus and I do have to state that Nikon should aim to do better here.

    good average zoom lens
    build quality

I sold it after 4 months and went for the 50-200 non SWD - overall it's a good lens, but if you watch ebay for the 50-200, you might find one for a cheap price - go for the big one ...
