Want a pocket-friendly long-zoom camera? The Samsung WB350F could be one to check out, although as yet we have relatively little information about the camera.
Based around a 1/2.3-inch type, 16.3 megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS image sensor, the Samsung WB350F offers a sensitivity range of ISO 80 to 3200 equivalents.
The sensor sits behind a 21x optical zoom lens with a 23mm-equivalent wide angle, and a telephoto equivalent in the region of 483mm. Maximum aperture starts from f/2.8, and falls to f/5.9 by telephoto. On the plus side, optical image stabilization is included, helping to prevent blur from camera shake. Images and movies are framed and reviewed on a 3.0-inch, 460K-dot LCD monitor, which also serves as an interface device courtesy of a touch-panel overlay.
Shooting modes include Smart, Baby Monitor, and Dual Capture. The Smart mode offers a variety of scene types, including Beauty Face, Landscape, Action Freeze, Panorama, Waterfall, Silhouette, Sunset, Fireworks, Light Trace, Low Light Shot, Rich Tone, Continuous Shot, and Macro. Movie resolutions include Full HD (1,920 x 1,080; 1080p), HD (1,280 x 720 pixels; 720p), VGA (640 x 480), and QVGA (320 x 240). All are captured at 30 frames per second.
Images and movies are stored on MicroSD cards, including the higher-capacity MicroSDHC and MicroSDXC types. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi wireless networking with support for remote live view, and NFC for easy setup with Android devices. Power comes from an SLB-10A battery.
Body colors for the Samsung WB350F include white, black, brown, red and blue. Pricing and availability hadn't been disclosed at press time.
