Why We Like the DJI Osmo Pocket 4

As the latest model in DJI’s pocket gimbal lineup, the Osmo Pocket 4 brings a large 1-inch sensor capable of capturing up to 4K240p video and 37MP stills. It also supports a D-Log color profile with up to 14 stops of dynamic range, giving creators considerably more flexibility when grading their footage in post-production.

Another useful feature is the camera’s 107GB of internal storage, allowing you to start shooting without having to install a memory card. DJI’s ActiveTrack 7.0 system also makes it easier to keep your subject in frame, which is especially useful when vlogging or shooting yourself.

Key Features:

Large 1-inch Sensor: The Osmo Pocket 4 uses a 1-inch sensor capable of capturing up to 4K240p video and 37MP still images. It also supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range, helping preserve detail across challenging lighting conditions.
Large-Capacity Internal Storage: With 107GB of built-in storage, the Osmo Pocket 4 can hold a substantial amount of footage without requiring a memory card. It also supports transfer speeds of up to 800MB/s, making it easier to move large video files off the camera.
ActiveTrack 7.0: DJI’s latest tracking system helps keep your subject in focus and in frame while you move. This is particularly useful for solo creators who need the camera to follow them without constantly adjusting the gimbal manually.
Advanced Color Grading: The combination of up to 14 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit D-Log recording gives creators plenty of latitude when working with footage in post. This makes the Pocket 4 particularly useful for cinematic travel footage, including challenging sunrise and nighttime scenes.
Lossless Zoom: The Osmo Pocket 4 offers 2x lossless zoom, allowing you to get closer to your subject while maintaining sharp, detailed footage. A dedicated zoom button makes it easy to switch between 1x and 2x views while recording.

Who Is This For and Is It a Good Time to Buy?

This is the first discount on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4, based on pricing data from camelcamelcamel.com.

The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 is designed for content creators who want stabilized footage in a genuinely pocketable package. Its large sensor, 4K video capabilities, D-Log recording, and advanced tracking make it particularly well suited to vlogging, travel videos, and cinematic content.

It can also serve as a useful BTS or B-roll camera for larger productions. Its small size makes it easy to carry around a set or use in situations where bringing a larger camera and gimbal would be impractical.

The $609 price is the first discount we’ve seen since the Osmo Pocket 4 launched, making this an attractive opportunity for anyone who has been waiting to buy DJI’s latest pocket gimbal. Given the limited availability of DJI products in the US, this is a deal worth considering while the camera is still in stock at the discounted price.
