It's been several years since I had the privilege of reviewing the capable Olympus E-PL7, a camera that brought a higher-end degree of precision to the dials and controls than had been previously offered in the mid-level PEN "lite" line. That was an enjoyable little camera to shoot with and put through its paces, but the latest PEN lite offering, the Olympus E-PL8, is simply a much better-looking camera!

So while not a major upgrade under the hood, the overall "vibe" of the camera, from the general aesthetic appeal to the feel in the hands, made me yearn to take it out for a few spins and see just what it could deliver for image quality in the real world. In this Gallery Supplement, I'll discuss the positives I found and also lay out a few "wish-list" items for future incarnations from the line.

And as for the general quality of the images, I certainly came away rather pleased, and I very much enjoyed my time with the camera out in the field. Dive into our Olympus E-PL8 Gallery Supplement for all the details, as well as a host of images from both the kit lens and seven different prime lenses!
