As we saw in my first Field Test, the Canon G1X Mark III includes a larger APS-C sensor than its predecessor, but the tradeoff is that the lens is shorter and slower. In my just-published second Field Test, I look at the G1X III's overall shooting experience, including a look at metering, shooting modes and the new in-camera panorama mode.

Further, I take a look at the G1X III as a video camera. Like many Canon cameras before it, the G1X III doesn't record 4K UHD video, but instead tops out at a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Nonetheless, this is enough resolution for many purposes, but is the Full HD video quality any good?

15mm (24mm equiv.), f/4.0, 1/800s, ISO 100. HDR Art Vivid.

After evaluating the video performance and features, I share my final thoughts on the Canon G1X III. This puts the wraps on our real-world testing of the Canon G1X III, but stay tuned to Imaging Resource for more on the camera and our overall final verdict.
