Spring is finally here in the northern hemisphere, the wildlife is quickly waking up, and our friends at Panasonic have now delivered us a sample of their new 50-200mm f/2.8-4 DG Leica lens. ...Perfect timing!

This new optic has so many intriguing specs to offer, but more than anything, it is a 100-400mm-equivalent lens with a relatively bright aperture that just so happens to be light enough to comfortably carry for extended periods. In addition, it supports Dual IS technology, allowing the ol' tripod to remain in the closet for most purposes.

We've now had the chance to get an initial real world gallery sampling shot and compiled for you, along with some initial performance and handling notes to boot, so dive in and see what this new Panasonic/Leica super-telephoto zoom lens is capable of capturing.
